World Railways Photograph Catalogue - Restoration & Archiving Trust

The formation of the Oeste in 1928 was an earlier attempt at nationalisation and was created by a merger between The Madrid Cáceres & Portugal; the Medina del Campo, Zamora, Orense & Vigo; and lines in the Salamanca area. At 1587 route km it was the 4th largest of the RENFE constituents, being just 60 kms less than the Andaluces.
This gallery then includes the locomotives from the smaller companies that remained independent up until the formation of the RENFE, other than the Central of Aragón which are added to the Andaluces section.
