A soft focus portrait of Paul standing by the lineside in New South Wales.
Paul was born in Stone in Staffordshire but spent most of his early years living in London, before moving to Lytham St. Annes in 1956. It was here in association with a small group of close friends that he developed his interest in railway photography. In the early 1960s he became involved with MNA activities resulting in a significant contribution to the NEVER AGAIN series of books.
Pauls interests, like other members of that group, extended to railways far beyond the UK shores; and it is this area of his activities which is portrayed here, his UK images having been donated to the Kidderminster Railway Museum.
Following the end of BR steam operations in 1968, Paul first went to Australia spending some time photographing the final steam operations on New South Wales Government Railways and railtour operations both there and in Victoria.
