The galleries covering Indian Railways will be extended progressively as time allows and initially cover the railways of pre-partition India. So some pictures here, in the case of the North Western Railway and the East Bengal Railway, were taken within present day Pakistan or Bangladesh but post partition scenes in those countries will be portrayed in line with present day borders.

Because of the limited number of pictures available at present in some cases the following railways have been included with another; the Jodhpur Railway has been added to the Bengal & North Western gallery and the Nizams State Railway has been added to the Madras & Southern Mahratta gallery.
