The majority of the pictures here were taken on the Chinese section of the metre gauge CF du L'Indo-Chine et du Yunnan built by the French between 1904 & 1910 linking Haiphong and Kunming, just over half of which fell within China. The CNR section between Kunming & the Vietnamese border at Hekou has since been replaced by a new standard gauge line.
