The images here were all taken on the Jiayang Coal Railway at Shibanxi where the locomotive depot is located along with a transhipment point to lorries for coal deliveries to the local power station. This isolated line about 20km in length serves an area with few roads and provides passenger services for locals and an increasing number of tourists. It is electrified between Shibanxi and the mine at Yuejin for the transport of coal but passenger traffic and coal traffic south of Yuejin is handled by steam. The railway is 762mm gauge but seves mines using both 600 & 300mm gauge tracks.
