The Waldviertelbahn is a group of 76cm gauge lines radiating from Gmund. First built was the 25knm line to Litschau with a 13km branch from Alt Nagelberg to Heidenreichstein, both opened in 1900. The 43km long line to Gross Gerungs on the west side of the standard gauge main line was opened throughout in 1903. All are still in use today. providing tourist services rather than freight & local passenfer transport.
